Pit Preparation
Prepare the Pit the Right Way
Proper pit preparation creates a suitable starting environment for the coconut plant and helps establish the root zone after planting.
Recommended Pit Size
2 × 2 × 2 feet
Keep the excavated soil aside after digging the pit.
Add Good-Quality Topsoil
Add approximately 1 foot of good-quality topsoil to the bottom of the pit.

For termite-control products, use the appropriate product according to its label and recommended application instructions.
Planting Procedure
From Pit to Planting
Dig the Pit
Dig a pit of 2 ft × 2 ft × 2 ft and keep the excavated soil aside.
Add Topsoil
Add approximately 1 foot of good-quality topsoil to the bottom of the pit.
Prepare the Soil
Mix 250 g Neem Powder and 250 g Single Super Phosphate (SSP) thoroughly with the soil.
Apply Termite Control
Apply 100 g of the recommended termite-control product according to its product instructions.
Place the Plant
Place the coconut plant carefully in the centre of the prepared pit.
Fill & Water
Fill the remaining space with good soil, gently press around the plant and immediately provide sufficient water.
Water Immediately After Planting
Give sufficient water immediately after planting to help settle the soil around the root zone.
